Assembly Steps

  1. Assemble the Base Stand

Assemble Base Stand #1 through: 1½ Nylon Washer #3, Yoke #2, 1 inch Nylon Washer #4, 1 inch (thicker) Metal Washer #9, Jam Nut #7, and Nylon Lock Nut #11 (Fig 1).

Note: Tighten Jam Nut #7 against Nylon Lock Nut #11. Do not over-tighten Yoke #2 to Base Stand #1—allow Yoke #2 to rotate. Keep nylon washers lightly lubricated for longer lasting performance.

  2. Install Bushings + Shoulder Bolt

Insert Bronze Oilite Bushing #8 into the holes in square tube Arm #10. Insert this assembly into Yoke #2 and line up holes to put Shoulder Bolt #6 through: Metal Washer #9, one side of Yoke #2, Bronze Oilite Bushing #8, square tube Arm #10, Bronze Oilite Bushing #8, other side of Yoke #2, Metal Washer #9 (if needed), and Nylon Lock Nut #11 (Fig 2).

  3. Install the Spring Safety Sleeve (Required)

Slip Spring Safety Sleeve #17 over Spring #16, leaving eyebolts exposed. Tie draw strings at both ends of the sleeve (Fig 3). Sleeves are longer than the springs and should be clumped to fit over the spring; the sleeve will straighten as the spring expands.

Important: Installing the spring safety sleeve is essential for safety. Serious personal injury could result from not using the sleeve.

  4. Attach Spring Assembly + Set Tension

Screw Thin Nut #7 to the end of each eyebolt of Spring Assembly #16/17. Insert one eyebolt into the base of Stand #1 and the other into one of the three holes on square tube Arm #10 (Fig 4). Fasten with Nylon Lock Nuts #11.

    Spring Tension

The three holes adjust spring tension: inner = least tension, outer = maximum tension. Start with the middle hole until you determine the proper setting with your craft attached.

  5. End Caps + Rope Assembly

Insert End Caps #14 into Arm #10. Insert Rope Assembly #12 into Arm #10 and fasten with Nylon Lock Nut #11. Attach fluorescent stickers as indicated in (Fig 4).

Fastening the Mooring System to the Dock

Determine spacing using the mounting distance on your boat. It’s recommended the arms angle in toward each other about 15° (Fig 5). Another method: add approximately 9 inches outward from the boat mounting dimension on both ends (Fig 5). This helps keep arms under constant tension and the boat centered.

Note: Dock fasteners are not supplied due to dock variations. Use grade A bolts, washers, and lock nuts when bolting the Wake Watchers Mooring System. Reinforce dock areas as needed.

Fastening the Boat to the Mooring System

When fastening your boat, ensure the back portion of the arms is level (parallel to the dock) and 90° to the base stand (Fig 6). Follow these instructions or the system may not perform properly.

Use boat bumpers until the correct tension adjustment is determined for optimum performance. In adverse wind, wave, and weather conditions, strongly consider spring lines or cross ties (Fig 7). Cross tying is also recommended for extended mooring periods.

Warranty may be null and void if instructions are not followed.
