Collection: Piling Wrap

Piling wrap protects wood pilings from marine borers - shipworms, gribbles and other organisms that eat a piling from the inside out, often with no visible damage until the piling fails. Wrapping seals the wood below the waterline and cuts off the access those organisms need.

Our piling wrap is black UV-stabilized high density polyethylene in .030" standard and .060" heavy thickness, on 36", 48" and 60" wide rolls. To work out how much you need, measure the circumference of your piling (diameter × 3.14) and add 4 to 6 inches for overlap. The 60" width covers most shallow-water pilings in a single band; 36" can be run vertically where you want more coverage up the piling.

Clean the pilings before wrapping, nail every 1-1/2" to 2" along the seam so barnacles cannot grow underneath it, and use Type 316 stainless ring shank nails in saltwater or Type 304 in freshwater. Not sure on quantities? Send us your piling count and diameter and we will size the rolls for you. Call 877-868-6220 or contact us for a quote.
