GEM GR1A Single Motor Remote w/ Auto Stop Capabilities

The Gem Remote is great! I ordered the auto-stop model for use on a dual PWC lift. I liked the extra safety features over the PWC remote (lockable box, internal power disconnect switch). I did have two issues, which were taken care of by Gem Tech Support. The web literature indicated that the auto-stop model could be run in either auto-stop or non-auto-stop mode (I wanted the option to possibly add that later). However the paper literature that came with the unit said it could ONLY operate in auto-stop mode. Tech Support instructed me how to re-solder a jumper to switch it out of auto-stop mode. Problem Solved! The other issue was a problem I didn’t know I had until Gem Tech Support mentioned that the motor wiring diagrams did not show the Aqua Marine brand (which turns out was the one I have). Tech Support let me know that Aqua Marine motor re-wiring was the same as the Regal Beloit’s A.O. Smith diagram. Luckily I had not started to wire up the remote to the motor yet, and the heads-up Gem Tech Support saved me a potential problem. Now that I’m more familiar with the Gem Remote I plan to order another one for my pontoon lift. I believe it’s the best product on the market!
